Each week pupils will be give up to 5 spelling words to learn.

They should write each word neatly four times in their jotters. It is important to use the following method as it is proven to be the best way to help remember spellings. – Say, sound, cover, write, check.

Can am facal         | SAY the word.

Smaoinich air na fuaimean         | SOUND out the word

Cuir am falach am facal         | COVER the word

Sgrìobh am facal na do leabhar         | WRITE the word in your jotter

Dèan cinnteach – an d’ fhuair thu ceart e?            | CHECK – have you written the word out correctly? If                                          not, try again on the next line until it is correct.
